Hotel Velvet

Hotel Velvet was inspired by mid-century Hollywood glamour,shot in an impromptu style, where the model appears in a vintage hotel room and instead of more studio style posing, plays with the flash of the camera. This approach highlights how the draped velvet and corseted bodice deep green reflects against the old furniture.

The dress was constructed with a corseted bodice that laces up in the back, and the draping is on the bias in both the skirt and the front bust piece, mainly hand stitched in order to achieve accuracy, velvet is incredibly hard to sew and press, yet the fabric pours over the body’s curves in effortless liquid pleats.
