A Tailored Fit
The final piece for my sartorial educational training was a tailored double-breasted brown jacket with wide lapels, fitted to a male colleague.
In this process we had to incorporate all of the artisanal techniques learned during training in a traditional suit. Around 90% of the piece is stitched by hand, molding to the contours of the body for a flawless fit. Hand-stitching the interfacing creates structure in the chest, and the small pad stitches on the lapel allow it to always lay perfectly flat.
I labelled this piece “A Tailored Fit”, and to shoot it I used a forest as a backdrop, enhancing the deep chocolate browns in the suit and a contrast between the high structure of the garment with the wild nature encroaching behind the model.
